Relevant Experience

Day PM have a significant amount of experience in working within the Healthcare sector. We have delivered many schemes across the NHS from Theatres, Wards, MRI & CT scanners, Trauma unit and improvements to welfare and catering facilities. This scheme required us to provide a new modern restaurant facility within the existing footprint. 

Client’s requirements

• The Trust wanted to improve the existing restaurant facilities and offer a variety of healthy food options.​
• Areas for open dining, private dining, and areas where staff could work and dine at the same time.​
• Create a new service area where a variety of offerings could be served.​
• Improve the current kitchen equipment to allow different food servings to cater to those who have specific dietary requirements.

Our Contribution

• Listen to the client’s requirements and understand their specific needs.​
• The Retreat is a refurbished restaurant with over 150 covers and a re-imaged catering offer that provides healthy, fresh seasonal food. ​
• The concept was developed that aims to create a genuine sanctuary, away from the busy hospital environment. ​
• Key to the space is a bespoke banquette seating area which includes a spine of planting that welcomes people into the space and creates a natural barrier to add privacy to the main seating area.​
• Complete new servery area.​
• The scheme was completed in July 2022 and rebranded as The Retreat restaurant.
