Working alongside a team of 17 Project Managers spanning 8 different countries on a £340m programme of works for Odeon Cinemas, Karla supported the external Project Management Office and Projects Director overseeing the entire programme of works, with 45 live projects at any one time. She also supported the Amazon projects and the shopping centre management team with lease advisory.  

In her most recent role she delivered a diverse range of projects across varying sectors throughout all RIBA stages including Commercial, Education and Local Authority ranging from Laboratories, Leisure Centres, Link roads, Libraries to Community Parks and Church Yards. Many of these projects were beneficial to the wider community and contributed to addressing local issues, which makes her proud to have been able to play a part in positively impacting communities. 

 Karla takes a hands-on approach to all her projects and appreciates the importance of working alongside others to achieve the optimum output. In order to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients, Karla is able to translate clearly a client’s requirements and keep this brief and vision at the forefront throughout all stages of a project.  She enjoys stakeholder management and community engagement and understands the importance of responding well to stakeholder feedback and bringing them on the journey.  

She is a keen advocate of Women in Construction and is a member of Women in Property. She is passionate about attracting a new generation of construction talent into the industry, sharing knowledge and continuous improvement and was chosen to represent her previous employer at the Future Innovators Committee. Karla is also using her professional experience and working towards being a member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
