Project Overview

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust had appointed DAY PM due to the need to provide a new modern restaurant facility within the footprint of the previous Bowmans restaurant. The refurbishment was required to allow a complete modernisation of the existing facilities and to allow a new provide offering of healthy food options.

The proposals created both open and private dining areas alongside break out spaces for well-deserved staff respite.

The scheme completed in July 2022 and rebranded as The Retreat restaurant. The Retreat restaurant now allows for one hundred and fifty covers with a re-imaged catering offer that provides healthy, fresh seasonal food. ​

Key to the space is a bespoke banquette seating area which includes a spine of planting that welcomes people into the space and creates a natural barrier to add privacy to the main seating area.​
